Your personal data (stories, answers to questions, photos, and preferences) is stored both locally on your device and in iCloud using Apple's CloudKit framework. This allows you to:

• Synchronize your data across all your iOS devices
• Backup your stories and memories securely
• Access your content from any of your devices
• Preserve your family stories safely

The data stored in iCloud is protected by Apple's security measures and is only accessible with your Apple ID credentials. Your stories remain private and personal to you.

2.2 User Preferences

The following preferences are stored locally and synchronized via iCloud Key-Value Storage:

• Relationship type selection (Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa)
• Onboarding completion status
• Text style preferences (font family, text color)

2.3 Purchase Data

Information related to premium lifetime purchases is managed directly by Apple through the App Store. We only have access to your purchase status to activate premium features. We do not collect, store, or process any payment information.

2.4 Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

• Analytics or usage data
• Location data
• Contact information beyond what you voluntarily write in your stories
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Any data for advertising purposes

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties. Your stories and personal data are:

• Only stored in your personal iCloud account
• Not accessible to us, other users, or any external services
• Not used for analytics, advertising, or any other purpose
• Completely private and under your control

4. Data Protection

Your data is protected by:

• iOS's built-in security mechanisms
• Apple's iCloud encryption and security measures
• Your personal Apple ID authentication
• End-to-end encryption for iCloud data

The application complies with Apple's security standards for both local and cloud data storage. Your stories are as secure as your Apple ID.

5. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: View all your data directly within the application
• Rectification: Edit and modify your stories at any time
• Deletion: Delete individual stories or all your data (both locally and from iCloud)
• Data Portability: Export your stories as PDF documents
• Withdraw Consent: Stop using the app at any time and delete all data
• Lodge a Complaint: Contact a supervisory authority if you have concerns

6. Children's Privacy

Tell Me Your Story is designed for adults to share their life stories. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

7. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following Apple services:

• iCloud/CloudKit: For data storage and synchronization (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
• App Store/StoreKit: For in-app purchases (governed by Apple's Privacy Policy)
• Apple Intelligence Writing Tools (iOS 18+): For text editing features (processed on-device, not sent to servers)

We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will notify you of any significant changes by:

• Updating the "Last updated" date
• Notifying you within the app if changes are material

• Until you delete it manually
• Until you delete the app and remove data from iCloud

We do not have access to or control over your data retention, as all data is stored in your personal iCloud account.
